As I continue my fascination with all things SteamPunk I have found a couple of sites that have become a must see to visit: SteamPunk Workshop, a blog site The SteamPunk Home, Aether Emporium, and Steampunkopedia.
So what is SteamPunk? A great site called Brass Googles has a couple of really great definitions about what SteamPunk is - but for me it is the What if Jules Verne's Victorian visions became reality? What if everything we know and use was based on that technology? What if 'steam' as a power source had shaped our current and future worlds? SteamPunk comforatably combines the romanticism of the past with the technology of the future and an aesthetic of beautiful craftmanship. As a genre, the art work and writings seem both nostalgic and futuristic. Think of Flash Gordon meets Phileas Fogg. Look at some Flickr pics to see some of the very cool Steampunk creations that happened at the recent Maker Faire.

Because of your blog I had to check out SteamPunk.
What I believe now is that SteamPunk is a great name for a rock band, its fun to say, and it is the most interesting thing I have learned working on this project. I have seen and read some of the movies/books (Jules Verne) you mentioned but had no idea there was a name or a following for that type of technology.
Thank you for broadening my horizons.
